The Commis – Tandoor helps in preparing and cooking Indian tandoor food. The person will work under the Head Chef and support the kitchen team. The main job is to prepare naan, roti, kebabs, tikka, and other items made in the tandoor oven.
Responsibility
Prepare and cook tandoor items like naan, roti, kulcha, kebabs, paneer tikka, and grilled dishes.
Make marinades and properly marinate chicken, mutton, fish, paneer, and vegetables.
Light and manage the tandoor oven safely.
Do daily food preparation (cutting, cleaning, mixing, etc.).
Keep the work area clean and hygienic at all times.
Follow recipes and portion sizes given by the chef.
Store food items properly.
Check stock and inform the chef if items are low.
Follow food safety and hygiene rules.
Help other kitchen staff when needed.
Skills Required
Basic knowledge of Indian cooking, especially tandoor section.
Ability to work in a hot kitchen environment.
Good teamwork and communication.
Ability to work fast during busy hours.
Willingness to learn.
Qualification & Experience
Hotel Management or Cooking course is preferred.
1–2 years experience in Indian kitchen (tandoor section preferred).
